Shelter Anniversary Party @ The Shelbourne

Shelter Anniversary Party

@ The Shelbourne

Last year’s Shelter Anniversary Party was mind blowing so nothing was going to stop me from being there this year.  We were going to be the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave.  This is always a party that brings the dancers out.  The vibe in the big room was deep but the Lounge was also bumpin’ throughout the night.  I can’t believe how many dancers were packed in there.

Highlight of the night … Joe Clausell playing 2 songs in the main room in between Timmy Regisford’s set.  I was in the lounge at that time and was 1 minute too late in experiencing this.  Praise Maria for getting it on video (check out her blog:)

Segafredo Showcase Day 1: Groove Parlor meets Deepmixfm Party

Tuesday, March 25

@ Segafredo Lounge

Emerge Recordings hosted some great parties at the Segafredo Lounge on Lincoln Rd.  The hoochies had a chance to check out Phil Kamp’s (Blackstar Music) set on Tuesday before we headed to Shelter.  We finally met Aladdin who is awesome :)  And the highlight of Phil’s set was Just Fine (Jovonn Remix) Mary J. Blige.  You can check out the mix on Casamena’s Dec. 4, 2007 podcast - 1st song

Here are a couple of pics while we where there… Not too many.  I was too busy listening to the music, taking video for Tobi and ordering mango margaritas… yummy!

Shelter Anniversary Party at The Shelbourne

Day One - Tuesday, March 25
Venue: Shine Nightclub @ The Shelbourne Hotel

This was the best party that I attended last year. So this year, as soon as the party was announced I knew when i would be flying into Miami. For me, the music at this party is something that can not be missed. I don’t get to hear it often in Orlando or get to experience it with that MANY people in one room. The main dance area was pretty full by 11 p.m.! Everyone was into the music and the dancing was top notch. This year there were also a good number of people hanging out in the lounge bar room. I heard alot of classics in that room … and saw some amazing dancers!  But for me… I stayed in the main room and just danced my ass off for the majority of the night. Two awesome videos and tons of photos below. It was heaven!

Two videos from the night:

Sting International at Shelter Party - Move Your Body!

Joe Claussell at Shelter Party - UNBELIEVABLE!!

House Society - Opening Day BBQ

Day One - Tuesday, March 25
Venue: FTV Studio @ The Sky Rooftop/ Formerly The Sony Building

The line to this party was insane! It took me and Jay about an hour just to get to the front. Once you reach the door you have to take the elevator all the way to the rooftop. The elevator holds about 8 people .. and we could only use one because other businesses where using the other. Not sure what ended up happening to the elevator.. but all i know is that after 5 p.m. everyone either had to climb up or down the 8 flights of stairs. I was lucky, i was going down.

This venue was really nice. You had an amazing view of miami. The only bad thing was that it was really windy and kind of cold. I heard Jamie Thinnes, Aaron Ross and David Harness spin. What a perfect line up to hear on my first day in Miami. :)
